Pension matched up to 5%
No matter what stage you are in your life, we want to enable you to plan for your future by investing in your pension. As default, you’ll contribute 4% to your pension and we’ll contribute 4%. You can increase your contribution to 5% and we’ll match it.

Time off
Total 35 days holiday
You’ll get a total of 35 days annual leave each year. This includes our end of year closure in December and we also have flexible bank holidays too, so you can choose when you take time off. You can also carry over five days holiday into the next holiday year.
Inclusive family leave policies
We provide enhanced primary and secondary parental leave and adoption leave. We also offer enhanced parental leave and fertility leave for those undergoing (or supporting) a partner undergoing fertility treatment. All of which are provided from day 1.

Communities at xDesign
We foster belonging through internal employee-led communities supported by xDesign and working in line with xDesign’s objectives. These communities aim to provide a source of peer support and amplify the voices of different groups to successfully advocate for change.
Our practice-based communities include the accessibility council, sustainability, well-being and STEM communities. Our identity-based communities include the Neurodiversity, LGBTQ+, parents and caregivers and women in engineering communities.

Own Your Own Potential
Own Your Own Potential is how our xDesigners approach their own performance in terms of growth and development. This framework has organically grown to help develop careers and experience at xDesign, and it encompasses a range of tools and support to enable this growth. Progression and development is very individual at xDesign, and Own Your Own Potential means that you can own the direction of your career, developing specialist skills every day so your career here works for you.
xLabs
This is our innovation program aimed at exploring new technology and demonstrating how it can be applied to solve client problems. Here you’ll have space to develop new ideas and products, as well as try new technologies and frameworks when you’re in between projects, during quieter times on client projects or you can use your L&D days to spend in xLabs to play with cool new tech. Some examples of recent xLabs projects are: building a generative AI chatbot with chatGPT, developing an internal currency with blockchain, and demonstrating the possibilities of AR & VR.
Learning and Development
We believe that continuous learning alongside personal and professional development is key to growth - as individuals, teams and across xDesign. We encourage everyone at xDesign to take dedicated time to focus on their own development. To enable this, you will have an annual allowance of Learning & Development to focus on learning experiences to support professional growth. We also have a fantastic Learning & Development team who are key to supporting learning across xDesign.

Q: Do you offer remote work and flexible work options?
A: We do! Some of our roles are remote and some will require travel to the office or client site; the specifics of each are outlined on our adverts will be discussed with you in depth at the recruitment stage. We have people who work 9–5 pm, others who work 8–4 pm, and some people who work around doing the school run. We believe that flexible working is crucial for building a diverse workplace.
Q: How long will it take before I hear back about my application?
A: Receipt of your application will be confirmed within 24 hours after you apply. If you’ve been selected to begin the interview process, you should hear from us within a few days. Exact timelines for progression through the interview process vary for each role and applicant. We also take into account your availability and any logistical needs when conducting interviews remotely with candidates.

Q: Are you committed to creating an inclusive, diverse workplace?

A: All applicant data is retained In line with current GDPR guidelines. Your application will be kept on file for six months following your initial application, unless you specifically request otherwise.
