You don’t need a specific type of degree to apply for the programmes, we welcome university, college and bootcamp graduates, as well as those retraining for a new career. We’re primarily focused on people with basic knowledge of their chosen specialty, a good attitude, and who are passionate about a career in tech. If you fit into these three things, we encourage you to apply!

Working flexibly

We welcome applications from people throughout the UK, you will be required to have the right to work in the UK with the appropriate visa in place already. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to support visas that require initial sponsorship. For our graduate programme, we support fully remote working across the UK and hybrid working, if you're located near one of our two offices in either Leeds or Edinburgh. Our intern programme runs on a hybrid basis.

The recruitment process

1: Submit application

First, you’ll fill out the application form on our website, which will consist of questions specific to your chosen programme. We will review applications as they come in. *engineering applicants will complete an online coding challenge.

2: Initial interview

Next, you’ll have an initial first-stage interview with the emerging talent team to discuss your skills, experience and interests. This is also an opportunity to ask any questions you have about the programme.

3: Discovery day

Finally, you’ll be invited to our Discovery Day, where you’ll take part in a practical group exercise, a role-specific interview, and a culture-focused interview. Hosted at our Edinburgh or Leeds office, this will be your opportunity to experience the xDesign way of life and understand if the role, and environment, would be a good fit for you.

FAQ

Q: Where are you based / do you accept remote applicants?

A: For our graduate programme, we support fully remote working across the UK and hybrid working, if you're located near one of our two offices in either Leeds or Edinburgh. Our internship programmes are hybrid-working programmes, based in our Edinburgh or Leeds offices. This means we require interns to work in the office for a proportion of the week throughout the programme.

Q: Does xDesign sponsor Graduate or Intern visas?

A: We welcome applications from people throughout the UK, you will be required to have the right to work in the UK with the appropriate visa in place already. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to support visas that require initial sponsorship.

Q: Is the graduate programme rotational?

A: Our engineering programme is a rotational programme. You will begin on an internal xDesign project before exploring a variety of our different teams within Engineering. Our non-engineering programmes will provide graduates with well-rounded project experiences and the chance to gain a variety of insights across the programme discipline!

Q: What academic requirements do you have for the graduate & intern programmes?

A: You don’t need to have a specific type of degree, we are open to applications from all backgrounds (including university, college and bootcamps). We’re looking for people who are passionate about the tech industry and digital products, as well as eager to grow their skills and keep up with the latest digital trends. If you are currently at college or university, you can apply for our internship programme regardless of your year of study.
