Engineering Internship
This 12-week experience will give you the opportunity to grow your skills in real-life engineering projects. You’ll work with a range of specialists and learn first-hand what life is like as a digital development partner. This role is perfect for those with a passion for digital products, and who want to put their coding interest into practice.

Hands-on project experience
Learn first-hand what’s involved in building digital products with the opportunity to implement new technologies, work as part of a cross-functional team and explore the wide range of specialisms here at xDesign, as you join our Engineering community.
Bite-sized development sessions
Take advantage of xDesign’s learning and development offering and elevate your experience with our regular development sessions. These will focus on a variety of technical and non-technical practices, giving you the skills you need to help set you up for success.
Valuable insight
Into real-life project work, what it’s like to work in a digital agency, and where you might want to take your career. You’ll also learn more about our other early careers opportunities, such as our graduate programme, in case that is the next step in your continuous learning journey with xDesign.

The recruitment process
1: Automated coding test
Once you’ve submitted your application for the programme, you’ll undertake a one-hour online coding challenge through Qualified, focused on the languages and frameworks used by our team every day.
2: Initial interview
Next, you’ll have an initial first-stage interview with the emerging talent team to discuss your skills, experience and interests. This is also an opportunity to ask any questions you have about the programme.
3: Discovery day
Finally, you’ll be invited to our Discovery Day, where you’ll take part in a practical group exercise, a technical-focused interview, and a values-focused interview. Hosted at our Edinburgh or Leeds office, this will be your opportunity to experience the xDesign way of life and understand if the role, and environment, would be a good fit for you.

The amount of information I have absorbed in areas I never thought I could. I had never done front end development and was worried I wouldn't be able to. But I now have a good level of confidence in developing such code as well as having the ability to comment on others work.
